“We Mourn the Passing of Zahara,” Family Releases A Statement. At this particular time, no one can get over the untimely passing of Zahara. As much as it appeared that she was in a critical condition, many were hopeful that she will eventually pull through.
Sadly on Monday, Zahara passed away, just two weeks after it was announced that she was hospitalized. The multi-award winning singer and song writer died at a private Johannesburg Hospital with her fiancé, Mpho Xaba, by her bedside. Zahara was 36 years old.
The family has issued out an official regarding their huge loss. They expressed their grief over losing their beloved daughter, sister, and friend. The family describes her as a pure light, and an even purer heart, a beacon of hope, a gift, and a blessing to them and countless people around the world.
“A legendary figure in the world of music, Zahara remarkably touched millions of people’s lives with her extraordinary gift and passion for music. She leaves behind an indelible mark on the music industry and a legacy that will forever resonate in our hearts and souls.

A month ago, the Zahara was in good spirits, as she celebrated her 36th birthday. To mark the milestone, she took her growth as God’s grace, mercy and kindness. She also thanked among others her family, friends and fans all over the world, for sticking by her throughout the years.
Zahara also had a lot to be thankful for this year. Back in March, she announced that she and her partner Mpho Xaba were engaged. After about six months of dating, the two decided to take their relationship to the nest level. Being the romantic type Mpho took Zahara by surprised when he popped out a customized engagement ring with family and friends as witnesses. He did all this with the help of Zahara’s assistant Lisa, without his woman suspecting a thing. Sadly though, Zahara lost her life before her much anticipated big day.
