Although losing a loved one is a painful experience, we can draw consolation from the memories we created with them while they were still alive. This is exactly the case with Thembisa Nxumalo, who is now celebrating her mother’s life as opposed to concentrating on the grief part.

Thembisa lost her mother to pancreatic cancer more than a decade ago. In an interview a few years ago with one local publications, the award winning media personality and actress stated that she regrets not being that close with her mom. Despite that, Thembisa learnt to have manners and how to be a lady from her mother, as well as learn nurturing skills and love for her family.

On what would have been her mother’s 62nd birthday, Thembisa revealed that she missed her dearly and needs her guidance more so in these trying times. Nonetheless, she still feels her mother’s presence to date.

Thembisa and her siblings are left with one parent, a loving father, who loves his children and grand kids to bits. The death of their mother has not deprived the Mdoda sisters of parental love. Their dad has stepped up to the plate and is doing a wonderful job as a single dad. Judging by their success, stories it is quite evident that they have been well taken care of.

Thembisa also shared that her mother was big on birthdays, and she instilled that on her children, who still carry the tradition. She also shared a funny memory of how they once threw a surprise birthday celebration for their mother, and things almost went South. Seeing a lot of cars made her mother think someone in the family has died.
