We cannot deny the power of the tongue, hence many people say their affirmations out loud. One person who has been bold enough to share their career aspirations on Twitter is Nambitha Ben-Mazwi.
It goes without saying that the talented actress is one of the best we currently have in the country. Nambitha keeps on bagging major role after another, both in South Africa and abroad. Her recent role was being part of the cast on Netflix series, Happiness Ever After which is the much talked about sequel of Happiness is a Four Letter. Nambitha’s other Netflix nods include Black Mirror where she played an American by the name Tamara. She was also cast on African originals: How To Ruin Christmas:The Wedding and Diamond City, playing Refiloe and Benathi Zwide respectively. Nambitha was then cast as Angela on Dead Places, a local thriller.
Now our golden girl is looking into bagging awards for her talent, and she is aiming for the stars. As soon as the Oscars revealed nominations for their 94th upcoming awards, Nambitha stated that she will be a next nominee for Actress in a leading Role award.
“I’ll be next. Watch,” Nambitha said.
This dream is highly possible, as the international world is beginning to recognize the talent in South Africa. A case in point will be that of Thuso Mbedu, who has been bagging major awards in the past year, for her role as Cora on The Underground Railroad. Among those awards include, the Outstanding Performance in a New Series at the Gotham Awards 2021 as well as the TV Breakout Star Award at the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards.
