The Underground Railroad Bags A Major Award. What a great way to start off the year! Taking over from 2021, The Underground Railroad, continues to bag awards. The Amazon Prime Video series has won Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture at the recent 2022 Golden Globe Awards.

The Underground Railroad beat other shows in he category, Dopesick, Impeachment: American Crime Story, Maid and Mare of Easttown to emerge the winner.

Through the series, we have seen our Golden Girl, Thuso Mbedu bag international award after award for her lead role as Cora. Among those awards include, the Outstanding Performance in a New Series at the Gotham Awards 2021 as well as the TV Breakout Star Award at the Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards. Even here at home, she is not forgotten. A few months ago, the multi award winning actress was also recognized here at home. The GQ Men of the Year Awards, announced Thuso as their Woman of the Year

Shot on location in various parts of Georgia, The Underground Railroad chronicles Cora Randall’s desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South. After escaping a Georgia plantation for the rumored Underground Railroad, Cora discovers no mere metaphor, but an actual railroad beneath the Southern soil.
