Levels! Makgotso M Gets to Work Alongside Best Friend Thuso Mbedu on an International Film. This is definitely what they mean when they say smashing friendship goals. From slaying together, to now taking over the international scene together, Makgotso M and Thuso Mbedu are without a doubt the epitome of friendship.
The two talented actresses started working together on Is’Thunzi, a drama series which saw Thuso get nominated for an International Emmy Award in 2017 for her lead character Winnie. On the drama series, Makgotso was cast as Thishiwe, Zikhona Bali as Londi and Yolanda Kgaka as Noxolo.
Well, the two best friends are back at working together, and this time around they are hitting the international scene. They will star on upcoming film, The Woman King, which is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. For some time now, many people have been aware that Thuso was in the film, but the icing on the cake is that another South African is part of the cast.
Makgotso has been cast as one of King Ghezo’s wives. The story follows Nanisca, General of the all-female military unit, and Nawi, an ambitious recruit, who together fought enemies who threatened to destroy everything they’ve lived for. How cool is it that Thuso and Makgotso will work alongside, Viola Davis, Lashana Lynch, and John Boyega! Go get them ladies!
The Woman King will be released on the 12th September 2022.
