Israel Matseke-Zulu Bags a Villain Role in a New Netflix Film. When it comes to nailing the villain role he is up there with some of the best actors in the world. Many have come to know Israel Matseke Zulu for his role as GP in the SABC1 drama series Gaz’lam. He also starred in Z’bondiwe as the cold, ruthless and dangerous Jakes Masilo. He also got a role on isiBaya as gangster Cyprian Gumbi.
A few months ago, many of Israel’s fans were devastated to learn that he was leaving Mzansi Magic telenovela, Gomora. The veteran actor, poet and musician played the role of Don, who was a ruthless gang leader in Alexandra Township. From the statement he shared on his social media, Israel left the show because of health issues. The good doing what he does best in a new film.
Israel is part of the Amandla cast, and from the trailer, it is quite clear that he will play a villain role once again. The film tells the story of two brothers on opposing sides of the law who are desperate to stay bonded, but are sadly torn apart by tragedy. The other brother is a cop, while the other is entangled in criminal activities. Among those who star in the film are Lemogang Tsipa, Thabiso Masoti, Bahle Mashinini, Thabo Rametsi and Nqobile Sipamla.
