Somizi’s Cook Book Bags An International Award Nod
Somizi’s Cook Book Bags An International Award Nod. If there is someone who continues to rise above what life throws his way, it has to be Somizi. 2021 without a doubt tested him in a number of ways. His much publicized marriage to Mohale Motaung crumbled, and the media as well as the public had a field day. Somizi also lost his job as an Idols SA judge, and his presenting gig on Metro FM.
Despite all of that, Somizi has just been living his best live. He often posts pictures and videos of himself out and about. The celebrated media personality, choreographer, musician and author has also been booked and busy. Somizi also recently made it on the Top 500 Most Influential Africans lists, which has been compiled by Tropics Magazine. His name is up there with the likes of Dr Precious Motsepe, Bonang Matheba, Caster Semenya among other big names in South Africa.
A year ago, Somizi published his cookbook, Dinner At Somizi’s – I’m Not A Chef, which is inspired by his family’s cooking and celebrates food that is proudly South Africa. Since its release, the cookbook has been doing amazing things, and maintained its Number one seller position in Food & Beverage chart in South Africa for months.
The book has now reached the international stage. Dinner At Somizi’s – I Am Not A Chef, has been nominated at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2022. There is only one book per country in each category, and Somiz is definitely the best to represent SA.
“My cook book has been nominated in the WORLD FOOD AWARDS ….THANK YOU MZANSI,” Somizi announced.
