Sad Note! Veteran Actress Temsie Times Passes Away. Another one of our talented veterans has sadly passed away. On yet another sad note, actress Themsie Times has passed away today at the age of 70. 7de Laan publicity manager Kayleen Bessit has confirmed Times’ passing, explaining that a statement would be issued on Friday.
The veteran actress is well known for her role on 7de Laan as Maria. She played this for 13 years before leaving the SABC2 show in 2016. Maria, was a straight-talking but money-loving domestic helper for Hilda played by Annelisa Weilandand Oubaas played by Pierre van Pletzen. She kept the couple’s flat clean and helped them maintain the peace many times.
Times is also known for other roles, among them Ma Jordan in the first season of Yizo Yizo and appearances in films such including Cry, the Beloved County and Beat the Drum.
