“Learn to Let People Be,” DJ Zinhle Defends Uncle Waffles’ Choice of Outfit
“Learn to Let People Be,” DJ Zinhle Defends Uncle Waffles’ Choice of Outfit. She is one of the breakout stars of 2021. Uncle Waffles broke the internet after a video of her tearing it up on the dance floor went viral. The video caught the attention of many including US based Canadian rapper, Drake. The international star, immediately followed Waffles on Instagram.
But with such kind of fame, comes criticism as well. It seems like a lot of people, more so men, are not impressed by the 21 year old DJ. Some come at her for always playing Adiwele, on her sets, and say she lacks diversity. One of the things that Uncle Waffles always gets dragged for is her choice of clothing. They say most female DJs have nothing to offer, but beauty and just being sexy behind the decks.
It has been quite heartwarming to see many female celebrities stand up for the young DJ as she faces backlash. A little over a month ago, Anele Mdoda took to Twitter saying that men are upset because a woman is getting her flowers because they are used to women pulling sexy moves for male DJs. Pearl Thusi is also another personality who supports Waffles and she even attends her gigs.
Despite all the support, many still want to bring Waffles down. At the moment she is being dragged once again for her gig clothes, Waffles recently did a gig in her signature which compromises a crop top, baggy pants, which are sometimes unbuttoned an a sexy bikini. This did not sit well with some people, as always, but she got support nonetheless. This time around the personality who stood up for Waffles is DJ Zinhle.
“It’s on her body, so it’s okay. She hasn’t asked anyone else to wear it. If you don’t like it that’s also okay but let’s learn to let people be,” DJ Zinhle said.
