“Y’all Are Really Still Calling Me Ntombi?” Sonia Mbele. Names like Karabo Moroka, Queen Moroka, Dineo Mashaba, Sbusiso Dhlomo, Jack Mabaso, Khethiwe, Thandaza Mukwevho, Nkhosheng, Sechaba, and so many others are still used to identify a lot of our stars today. These are the characters that they have played on TV dramas years ago, and for some reason they are stuck with them.

One actress who will forever known for the iconic character she played on Generations is Sonia Mbele. The talented actress and TV producer played Ntombi Dhlomo, who was married to the cunning Sibusiso Dhlomo played by the late veteran actor Menzi Ngubane. Ntombi and Sibusiso Dlomo were one of Mzansi’s favorite couples and will definitely go down as the best TV couple on local TV.

Sadly Sonia left Generations after her ex husband, Lesile Sedibe, made her quit because he didn’t like the role she played. To show that she was a fan favorite, even today, a lot of people still call her Ntombi. Even though Sonia has been on different shows after Generations including The Imposter Season 2 and DiepCity, she will forever be known for her character as Ntombi.
