Pearl Thusi Defends Herself After Her Interviewing Skills Got Questioned. She is one of the best media personalities many look up to in this country. Pearl Thusi keeps on bagging major hosting gigs, simply because her work speaks for itself.
Having noted that though, it is not everyone who is always happy with her work. While Pearl was still a host on BET talk show, Behind the Story, her interviewing skills were often challenged. There was a time when she interviewed rapper AKA, and many though she was being biased. Many noted that Pearl kept on laughing when AKA made fun of his ex, Bonang Matheba. One of those people who was not impressed about that particular interview was Redi Tlhabi.
She did not come back for the show’s Season V and has since been replaced by media personality and actress Nomalanga Shozi. Even though that is the case, some people still drag Pearl for her interviewing skills on the show. One tweep recalled the interview that Pearl had with media personality and singer Unathi, saying she butchered it.
The tweep went on to state that Pearl doesn’t know how to catch her subject in the interview, or hook the emotion of it all. “Doesn’t let the subject get into detail and rope us in…..urgh! Ke QnA and she moves on. No storytelling,” she added.
“I spent about 2/3 hours interviewing sis Unathi.. please discuss your concerns. With the editors. That was one of my fav interviews and the edit doesn’t reflect what I experienced on the day,” Pearl said in her defense.
