“I Was Actually Nervous and Scared,” Pearl Thusi on Hosting The Roast of AKA. You will think only those who get nervous at the Comedy Central Roast would be the one getting roasted as well as the panel. But hey, what do you know, Pearl Thusi has revealed that even as a a host you can get nervous.

In February 2019, the talented actress and media personality made history as the first black woman to be Roastmaster. AKA got the comedic roast of a lifetime by acclaimed comedians, musicians and more, including Moonchild, Papa Penny as well as the roast master, Pearl. As expected, the show was hot, and trended for quite some time on social media as well as the mainstream media.

Pearl without a doubt did a stellar job as the roast master, leaving no stone unturned despite AKA being her best friend’s baby daddy and boyfriend at the time. Although the roast took place over two years ago, one social media user has just applauded Pearl on her amazing talent. Pearl took in the compliment, but also showed some modesty in revealing that she was actually nervous and scared. But hey, being the ultimate clapback queen came in handy as she slayed her roast master duties.

“I was actually thinking I’m glad I was brave and agrees to do it. I was actually quite nervous and scared if I’m being honest- but then I remembered roasting peeps is something I enjoy lol,” Pearl said.
