Here is Why Kabelo Mabalane is Dragged for Being on the Forefront of a Gender Based Violence Campaign

Here is Why Kabelo Mabalane is Dragged for Being on the Forefront of a Gender Based Violence Campaign. When it comes to gender based violence we need all the awareness we can get. Hence at times, it is important to both victims and perpetrators who are remorseful to come forward and address the issue.

Someone who has been a perpetrator years ago is Kabelo Mabalane. The TKZee band member battled drug addiction for years, and constantly found himself in trouble. Kabelo will beat up people in clubs and end up on the wrong side of the law. One evening, he took offense at a comment a woman made to him. He took a bottle of water, in the club, in front of everyone, and poured it all over her, calling her a bitch. Kabeleo believed that women should be treated like they are nothing.

The great thing is that, Kabelo has since cleaned up his act, and he is 19 years sober, a Pastor and a family man. He also runs the Comrades for charity, is part of the Seven Summits Challenge team and a charity organization called Mountain Heights that focuses on climbing mountains to encourage change and bring hope to people struggling with drug addictions.

Kabelo recently took to social media to announce the successful launch of the #NoExcuse, campaign, which is for the ‘healing’ and ‘transforming’ of perpetrators. He also shared a bit about his past as an abuser and stated that he has since learnt that it is important to take full responsibility for the behavior and is now coming up as an ‘ally’ to end the ‘pandemic’.

Not everyone is happy though. They feel perpetrators are forever given platforms to say their side of the story in the absence of victims. The fact that some of these perpetrators are now cashing in from their past deeds, does not sit well with a lot of people.
