Here Is One Gig Musa Mthombeni Is Not Willing to Do for Free
Here Is One Gig Musa Mthombeni Is Not Willing to Do for Free. Those in the entertainment industry often complain about being used. A lot of people want their services but they are not willing to pay. They are given gigs in the name of exposure, and quite frankly that is an insult since exposure doesn’t pay bills. Even the mainstream media at times air old shows but they don’t give the actors anything, yet the broadcasters make a killing from such shows.
The good thing though is that entertainers are now standing up for themselves and demanding payment for the work that they do. Although gigs are scarce to come by, they will rather wait for the right thing to come than look all desperate in the name of exposure. Case in point will be Thembisa Nxumalo, who left popular TV show, Our Perfect Wedding in 2017, because the money did not equate the job.
One of those who is not about to be taken advantage of is Dr Musa Mthombeni. The TV personality and medical doctor has been singled out at work to host the year end function. Well, it goes without saying that he is the perfect pick looking at his experience in the entertainment industry. The only thing is that, Musa’s boss did not ask him for an invoice, which could mean they assume he does the job for free. Taking it to Twitter, Musa made it clear he doesn’t work for free. We wonder how this will pen out!
“I’m MCing a work (hospital) year end function tomorrow. Should I send my boss an invoice because she kinda said I’m doing it without asking for rate. I wonder if she knows that I don’t work for free,” Musa said.
