eNCA’s Shahan Ramkissoon Takes on Helen Zille With a Fierce Clapback. There is never a dull moment in South Africa. Gone are the days when clapbacks were only used by personalities in the entertainment industry. Now even news anchors such as Shahan Ramikissoon have joined the club.
The eNCA journalist showed another side of his, on a response to Helen Ziile. When it comes to Twitter, Ziile never shies away from sharing her opinion, no matter how unpopular it is. The former Cape Town Mayor and Chairperson of the Federal Council of the Democratic Alliance is not happy that the mainstream media (TV) could not keep up with a breaking news story.
Singling out eNCA, Ziile stated that they only wanted to interview her about whether someone felt slighted in negotiations, instead of looking at the bigger scoop which is, probably the new mayors who have just been elected. This did not sit well with Ramkissoon who immediately took on Ziile.
“If you understood TV news a little better, you’d know I waited for us to verify before asking you anything on Da Gama being elected Speaker. As soon as we took the breaking news strap I asked you about it. Also I’m not one of your DA workers who you can tell what to ask and when,” Ramkissoon clapped back at Ziile.
