Check Out How Celebs Stood Out At The African Fashion International Week. Since Covid-19, there has been very few events in the country. Thus, when people hear of an upcoming event, they go all out to make up for all those they have missed. That is why from October 28th to 30th 2021, fashion lovers across the country made it a point that they check out the African Fashion International week.
African Fashion International week took place at the recently launched Alto 234 in Sandton. It was hosted by high flying media personality and actress Nomalanga Shozi. Founded by Dr Precious-Moloi-Motsepe, the story of AFI started in 2007, as the global fashion industry began consciously correcting it’s lack of diversity. AFI has since groomed and propelled local designers into global household names.
The runway looks were definitely to die for. Local and international designers came through with the latest trends in fashion. Those who attended got to see the likes of Sasha Laurel, Penny Lebyane, Yvonne Chaka Chaka as well as Lamiez Holworthy showed off their catwalk skills on the runway.
A number of our celebrities represented very well in the red carpet department. The host Nomalanga, showed why she was chosen to MC a show of this magnitude. Although they were in the DJ booth, DJ Zinhle and Thuli Phongolo made sure they turned heads. Other celebrities like Candice Modiselle, Makgotso M and Rosemary Zimu also brought their best fashion food forward.
