Age is Just a Number! Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng Celebrates Her 55th Birthday in Style. As the saying goes, ‘Black Does Not Crack!‘ This resonates perfectly well with Mamokgethi Phakeng who seems to have the keys to the fountain of youth.

This past weekend, Professor Phakeng who was one of the judges at Miss SA 2021 beauty pageant, celebrated her 55th birthday, but hey, she still looks as young as ever. The vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town, took to social media to share how she celebrated her big day, and the pictures immediately broke the internet. In some of the pictures, Phakeng looked all sorts of sexy in a white two piece bikini. She also included a brief video of herself swimming, much to the delight of her followers.

Many were taken aback by how youthful the professor looks. When one person asked her the secret to defying age, Professor Phakeng listed staying away from alcohol as well as respecting the body as some of the tips. Move over Pharell Williams, we have our very own Forever Young here in South Africa.

“Another beautiful day done as I say goodbye to being 54 yrs old. Bottomline is that after today I’ll never be 54 years old again. Live a full life & live it urgently! Respect your body & it will respect you back! This is not a rehearsal, there is no second take,” Phakeng captioned some of her pictures.
