Watch! Thapelo Mokoena Shares the Trailer of His New Movie. When it comes to local movies and TV show, we are spoiled for choice. Basically every week new shows bringing fresh content are announced. Just a few days ago, the much anticipated Season II of Blood and Water dropped, and as expected the series is making waves both locally and internationally.
We also have another movie that is due to drop in a few days. The modern-day, post-apartheid South African movie, Angeliena, is set to premiere on Netflix globally on 8 October 2021. The star-studded cast follows the journey of the formerly homeless parking attendant, Angeliena, who is diagnosed with a fatal disease and dares to put her lifelong dream of traveling the world into motion.
The debut fiction feature by director Uga Carlini, ANGELIENA, stars Euodia Samson as Angeliena and a stellar supporting cast featuring some of SA’s biggest names such as Thapelo Mokoena, Kuli Roberts, Colin Moss, Tshamano Sebe, Marciel Hopkins, June van Merch and new comers Nicole Madell, Roka, Neo Carlini-Vidulin, Schalk Bezuidenhout, Sandra Prinsloo, and Toya Delazy just to highlight a few
Angeliena’s story is about self-love, making money, and terminal illness, divorce, and nature, and friendships and hardships, poverty, travel, beauty, hot doctors, loving Nelson Mandela, loving plants, dreams and; being good enough.
“Every corner of the world deserves that 1 film that introduces a People they didn’t know or understand. This film does exactly that, It was a pleasure playing Dr. Alasa,” Thapelo said.
