Nokuthula Mavuso On The One Thing She Hates About Acting

Nokuthula Mavuso On The One Thing She Hates About Acting. She is one of the best actress we have on TV at the moment. Having started her career at the age of nineteen, Nokuthula Mavuso is quite a famous face in the industry with massive experience.

Her very first role was in the show Wild Child Lu. As her star started to shine, Nokuthula was then cast in the popular television serials Rhythm City in 2007 where she played the popular role of Tshidi Khuse. In 2009, she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress during the 3rd South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for the role.

In 2018, Nokuthula bagged herself a role on 1Magic hit show The River. In the telenovela, she played Angela a woman who would do anything to survive. Apart from these popular television serials, she has bagged lead roles in shows like Abomama as ‘Mapule’ and on Ambitions as ‘Thembi’. She also played supportive roles in the serials Hard Copy, Backstage, Umlilo and Scandal!. In the remake of original 1977 version of American mini-series Roots, Nokuthula played a lead role as ‘Kunta Kinte’s mother’.

In the e.tv drama series Umlilo, she starred as ‘Dumile’, a city girl born and raised in Soweto who is the second wife in a polygamous marriage. Currently she is doing her thing on South African crime thriller television drama series Reyka where she plays the role of Portia. In an industry that is so competitive, Nokuthula is surely blessed to have remained consistent over the years.

But hey, just like everyone else out there, she too has some reservations about some things in her line of work. She recently took to Twitter to point out that the one thing she hates about her job is having to kiss co-stars. We definitely feel for Nokuthula and everyone who is in the same situation, because there is nothing as difficult as passionately kissing someone that you are not romantically involved with.

“If go nale selo I don’t like about my job…masunana. Motho a go nyorelle o be o dronkege,” Nokuthula said.

Another actress Refilwe Madumo, responded by saying Covid-19 came through for her, as she managed to play three relationship roles without kissing. It is really tough out there, more so for actresses come to think of it.
