All Charges Against Dr Tumi and His Wife Dropped
All Charges Against Dr Tumi and His Wife Dropped. This is without a doubt a relief for the family and their fans. Dr Tumi and his wife Kgaogelo Sara Makweya have been cleared of all the charges that were laid against them earlier this year.
In April, the couple made headlines both on mainstream media and social media over fraud allegations. According to reports Dr Tumi and Kgaogelo were listed as committee members of a non-profit organization and allegedly submitted altered grant application documents to the National Lotteries Board for approval of funds to finance projects in 2018.
Together with their co-accused, Christopher Tshivule and Thomas Ndadza, they submitted the documents to the National Lotteries Commission in September 2018, resulting in more than R1.5m being transferred into a private bank account. The couple allegedly benefited approximately R760 000 from the funds. This left a lot of people disappointed as they held Dr Tumi in high regard.
Dr Tumi, then took to Twitter to share his side of the story as speculations escalated. Making it brief, the award winning musician, medical doctor as well as TV personality said at this point they won’t be commenting on anything since the matter is before the courts. He further thanked everyone for support and understanding.
Well, like he promised, the courts did their job and a verdict has been reached. The Specialized Commercial Crime Unit dropped all charges against the couple this morning.
“Morning fam. The beauty of the truth is that it can’t be changed. Today we were exonerated of any wrong doing!!,” Dr Tumi captioned his statement.
