The chicken franchise always come through with relatable ads, mostly based on what is trending at the moment. Their Twitter page is also filled with hilarious content, and their followers are always hailing the admin of the page.

Their latest advert of new R49 prego & chips meal has left many in stitches. The storyline of the ad is a“fake story” about the “Ekurhuleni 11″. The Ekurhuleni couple made breaking news when they announced that they are expecting 11 babies. They got the world’s attention over their record breaking news, and received gifts from all over. After some time, it became obvious that this was all a scam and there were no babies.

This reminded us of the story that happened a few months ago about the Thembisa 10. In June there were reports that a woman from Thembisa gave birth to 10 babies all at once. She immediately made it into the World’s Guinness Book of records, making the country all proud. The excitement was short lived though, as it appeared that there were no records of such birth taking place.

Nandos did not waste time, but did an ad, almost identical to the Thembisa 10 story. A lot of people hailed them for always nailing it when it comes to current affairs. However, not everyone is impressed by the ad, and one of those is Ntsiki Mazwai. The poet, singer and TV personality said Nandos is racist on social media. She stated that they are condescending towards black people through their adverts.

“I didn’t wanna be the first to point out that @NandosSA is racist Af on social media. Condescending towards blacks. It’s try another strategy,” Ntsiki said.
