Lesedi Matsunyane Warns Against a Ferguson Auditions Scam
Lesedi Matsunyane Warns Against a Ferguson Auditions Scam. Opportunities are really scarce the entertainment industry, hence a lot of desperate job seekers at times fall victims of scams. People take to social media pretending to be major production houses seeking for talent. They swindle desperate job seekers of their last money, or worse still it might be human trafficking syndicates.
Most people who aspire to be actors without a doubt dream of working for a company as big as Ferguson Films. The leading production company has produced major shows like The Queen, Rockville Kings of Joburg, The Throne, The Wild and so many others, and being cast n these shows can really upgrade your acting CV. Sadly criminals have used this by posting fake auditions as a way to lure unsuspecting victims.
Lesedi Matsunyane, who is a casting director as well as assistant production manager at Ferguson Films has warned against recent fake audition posts doing the rounds on social media. The person or people who posted the fake opportunity used a brief that Ferguson Films put out back in January. They used their logo, to make it look authentic. Lesedi however cautioned that, if it doesn’t come from the Ferguson Films official Twitter or Instagram pages, it is definitely fake. She also added that they don’t have a Facebook account.
“@Ferguson_Films, is NOT holding any open auditions at this time. This was a brief we put out in JANUARY! Logo or not, if it does not come from our Twitter, Instagram and personal accounts… It is fake. FF also does not have Facebook,” Lesedi said.
