Katlego Maboe Expresses Gratitude Despite Challenges of The Past Year
Katlego Maboe Expresses Gratitude Despite Challenges of The Past Year. 2020 will definitely go down history as one of the worst years of our generation. Among other heart-wrenching things, Covid-19 was declared a pandemic and claimed the lives of many. Sadly 2021 is no exception as lives, jobs and business opportunities continue to be lost on a daily basis.
Although these are tough times for us all, some people have had it more rough than others. One person who had a rough 2020 is Katlego Maboe. The TV host made news when a video of himself confronted by his wife over cheating allegations went viral.
Maboe was exposed on Twitter by his wife’s brother, for cheating on her, multiple times and for allegedly giving her an STD. The lady who Katlego allegedly cheated with goes by the name, Nikita Murray. Domestic violence allegations were also mentioned, which led to Maboe fumbling his bag as an Expersso presenter and Outsurance ambassador.
To add salt to his wound, Maboe was removed From The SAFTAs nomination list in May this year. This came after he bagged a nomination for the Best TV Presenter category against Devi Sankaree Govender, Dineo Ranaka, Palesa Tembe, Katchie Nzama and Waldimar Pelser. The nomination was withdrawn following public outcry over abuse allegations hanging over him.
Despite al of this, Maboe who has bee off social media for months, have come through with a very powerful post about showing gratitude. Maboe preached that even in the midst of challenges, one should find gratitude. He also emphasized that we should not take for granted the fact that we are alive at the end of the day.
“It’s difficult at such a time to be thinking of a word such as gratitude. The past year has taken so much away from all of us and for some of us, it has taken everything. Be that as it may, I still firmly believe that there is so much to be grateful for especially while facing daunting prospects. The very breath in our lungs is a signal that echoes the need for gratitude amidst the raging storm – not so much as to brush off as insignificant the challenges we have gone through and still face daily, but as a firm stance to affirm that we will not be defeated. We are more than our current circumstances and our continued existence and possible future depends on that belief – that tomorrow holds the promise of improvement and betterment of the self and circumstances. I have found solace in the word that says, “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.
Wherever you are and whatever you’re going through – I pray this brings you comfort, peace, joy and strength to take one more step each time you feel disheartened, as it has done for me.
All love. ❤️,” Katlego said.
