Watch! Basetsana Kumalo Takes Us Back To The Time She Competed At Miss World. When it comes to international beauty pageants, South Africa has always been well represented. You can think of beauty queens such as Zozibini Tunzi, Demi-Leigh, Nel-Peters, Rolene Strauss, Margaret Gardiner and Penelope Anne Coelen who each has won either Miss Universe or Miss World titles.
Even those who didn’t clinch the ultimate crown went on to finish off in respective positions. Those include Basetsana Kumalo and Tamaryn Green. They both became first runner-up in Miss World and first runner-up in Miss Universe respectively. To date, the two are among inspirational South Africa women who are doing amazing things both professionally and personally.
A lot of youngsters though, might know Mrs Kumalo more as a TV mogul than a beauty queen. If you are one of them, worry not, because Bassie has taken us done memory lane when she competed in Miss World 1994.
