Sello Maake kaNcube Mourns His Mother. The rate at which we lose our loved ones is appalling. Just, a few weeks ago, Sello Maake kaNcube lost his brother, Quinton Matlhodi Maake to Covid-19. Maake kaNcube, who revealed that he was battling to come to terms with the loss, urged the public to adhere to the regulations as Covid-19 is not a myth, but a reality.
As if that was not big enough a blow the award winning veteran actor has lost yet another family member to Covid-19. His dear mother Virginia Maake passed away a week ago on the 1st of July. Because of the pandemic, Maake kaNcube aouced that they will be having a family only ceremony. He however thanked everyone for their support and prayers.
“It still feels surreal, robala ka kgotso Virginia! ♥️? Re tla kopana hape! ♥️?♥️,” he said.
Covid-19 is without a doubt playing a number on us. With the latest Delta Variant, infection and death statistics rise at an alarming rate. On the 15th of June, President Cyril Ramaphosa, announced that the country was moving to level 3 lockdown alert. It goes without saying that the situation is quite bad.

As of yesterday the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases identified in SA is 2 090 909 with 15 501 new cases reported. 457 deaths have been reported which brings the total to 62 628 deaths. The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 845 038 representing a recovery rate of 88.2%.
