SABC Part Ways With Robert Marawa
SABC Part Ways With Robert Marawa. The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has announced the departure of broadcasters Robert Marawa and Vaylen Kirtley from the public broadcaster. Marawa anchored MSW radio show on Metro FM and Radio 2000.
Kirtley presented the sport segment of SABC’s television current affairs show Morning Live and was also an anchor for SABC sport programming. She joined the SABC 20 years ago and started with junior sports programmes at the time. In a statement circulating on social media, SABC did not reveal the reason behind the departure of the two, but however wished them the best in their future endeavors.
In 2019, Marawa was laid off by sports channel, Supersport. What shocked many is the manner in which the legendary media personality was fired. He was sent a text message a few hours before going live. Marawa was told not to bother coming to work. He then decided to start his own sports channel on YouTube after his fans urged him to do so.
