Lesego Semenya’s Girlfriend Opens Up About Their Love In A Touching Tribute #RIPLesDaChef

Lesego Semenya’s Girlfriend Opens Up About Their Love In A Touching Tribute. There are people in this world who are lucky enough to meet their soul mates and pursue love. This was definitely the case with Lesego Semenya and Sisipho Gcanga. Judging from their social media posts, it is safe to conclude that indeed love lived there.

With regret, the two love birds’ dream of happily ever after came to an abrupt end when Lesego passed away this past Monday. Les Da Chef as he was known announced over a week ago that he contracted Covid-19. The culinary chef, author and TV personality always updated his fans and followers about his journey with the virus, but sadly at the ed of the day he succumbed to it.

The South African world was thrown into mourning after the chef’s death was announced on Monday, 12th of July, 2021. His death was a rude shock to his fans, especially because he was just recovering after testing positive for Covid-19. His partner Sisipho took to social media to announce the devastating news. She also updated people on the funeral details a few days later.

Today Les Da Chef is being laid to rest, and more tributes poured in for him. Sisipho also seized the moment, to open up about the love that the two shared. She stated that she always told Lesego that she preferred it if she died first, but he wouldn’t have none of it. Speaking about their love, Sisipho mentioned that they had a playlist, which they compiled from the days they were starting to know each other.

Even though the were cohabiting, Sisipho said they used to send each other email love letters. She thanks Lesego for the small things like forehead kissing that made their relationship so special. Sisipho also appreciates the big things like being loved loudly.

Goodnight Lesego

First of all, this totally sucks because i told this guy that i’d prefer to die first and even though he didn’t agree to it, I thought he’d at least give me a few more decades, more trips, more DIY projects, more trips to builders and more of the best cuddles i’ve ever received.

When Les and i were in our “talking stage”, i suggested we send each other a song that we love every day just so we could get to know each other more, over time Les’ songs became dedications. Some of my faves;

1. Some kind of miracle – Puff Johnson
2. Spend my life with you – Eric Benét ft. Tamia
3. I knew i loved you – Savage Garden

We created what is currently the only playlist im listening to with close to 100 songs.

Even though we lived together, sometimes we’d send each other email love letters titled “some words” (a tradition Lesego started).
A short piece from one of his reads:

“You came into my life when I least expected and you’ve changed my views. I now think of a future that isn’t just about myself. I plan differently, think differently…I even dream differently. When I talk with you I feel so safe. My heart feels at peace and for once I know my soul has found a home.

I love you Sisipho. I know you know that. My heart is yours.”

(His emails were always better than mine)

Now…To my angel; thank you for the small things: the best cups of tea, the constant forehead kisses, making sure i always have honey, letting me wear your slippers even though it drove you mad, thank you for insisting i always have my nails done (even though it was for scratching your back)?

For the big things; making your home ours, loving me loudly and consistently, softening and opening up to me when you had almost given up on love. Thank you for what was an incredible life and what promised to be an incredible forever. I guess ours was a short story, an incredible one nonetheless.

I think i’ll be ok.
Today i’ll lace up my pair of our matching shoes and lay you to rest.
I love you forever Mr Baby. Sweet dreams my angel. You can rest now
