My 30s are teaching me that no one owes me anything
I owe myself all of me
Every part I can find to give to myself
I owe myself kind thoughts
Words of affirmation
Rest and recuperation
I owe myself a safe space
To walk away from that which overwhelms me
Threatens to change me
I owe me my heart and soul
The love I crave for
I owe all I give others
To me.

My 30s are teaching me to be free
To see that it’s okay
To give only the overflow of a full cup
Only the overflow
“What’s in the cup is meant for me”
I am learning that the world
Will keep spinning, long after me
But MY world
Is ME,
” Mona said.
