Lusanda Mbane Bids Farewell to Scandal!. Even some of the greatest things in life do come to an end. After 5 years of being entertained by Boniswa Langa, we are sadly bidding goodbye to her. Lusanda Mbane who played the character has taken to social media to share the sad news.
From being a focused career woman, devoted wife and mother, Boniswa’s character has changed dramatically. She is now the villainous mother, who drugged and kidnapped her own son, to being a murderer among so many chilling acts. We don’t know how the character will exit Scandal!, but we are pretty sure that the e.tv soapie is cooking something that will blow our minds off.
“What an honour! What a journey! What a ride! Five years ago I took on this warm, mother-natural queen Boniswa Langa, who cared about nothing else but the wellbeing of her family. Little did I know she would evolve into the cold, calculated villain our audiences have come to love to hate,” Mbane said in an interview with TshisaLIVE .
Mbane’s television acting career began with a cameo role as Advocate Macheke on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, in 2009. She however rose to fame with her role as Naomi Malotana on the SABC1 soapie Generations, from 2010-2011. Mbane had a guest starring role as Joyce in the Season 11 premiere of the SABC1 drama series Soul City, which aired on 18 October, 2011. In the same year she landed the starring role of Zodwa, a domestic worker, in the SABC1 sitcom Abo Mzala.
In addition to her ongoing role in Scandal!,Mbane also landed the recurring role of Thembi Mdlalose on the Mzansi Magic drama, Isibaya (a different role to her Season 3 one), making her first appearance in Season 6.
The talented actress has also played lead roles in a number of advertising campaigns for clients including Knorrox, Kellogg’s (Chocos), Brand Power (Ponds), Rama, Milo, Dettol and McCain
