Dis-Chem Baby City is seeking a Sales Assistant for their Sandton City store in Gauteng. This part-time role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while supporting daily retail operations. Sales Assistants help maintain stock levels, manage point of sale transactions, and ensure high merchandising standards. The position is ideal for entry-level candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired stock to management
• Assist with stock counting, general stocktaking, and the loading or off-loading of stock
• Ensure shelves are fully stocked, neatly presented, and merchandise is within sell-by dates
• Maintain accurate pricing, labels, and promotional displays
• Implement monthly promotions effectively and ensure promotional stock and signage are timely and correct
• Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses and build stable displays for promotions
• Process all purchases accurately, including cash, card, vouchers, and loyalty programs
• Provide professional, friendly, and helpful assistance to all customers
• Resolve customer stock queries and report compliments or complaints to management

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Up to 6 months’ retail experience or a minimum of 1 year work experience in retail

Advantageous

• Certification in Retail Business Management
