Anele Mdoda On The Show That Prepared Her For Long Hours and Rejection. It goes without saying that at the moment, Anele Mdoda is one of the leading media personalities. Every now and then, the award winning Anele bags hosting gigs, both locally and internationally.
Anele began her radio career as a DJ at the University of Pretoria 17 tears ago, in 2004, where she was studying politics and international relations. Three years later, she was hired by Jo’burg radio station Highveld FM in 2007 with Nash as her partner. In March 2008, the duo then moved to 5FM. They took over the time slot previously held for many years by the F & Martinengo Show, hosted by Ian F and Sasha Martinengo. She is currently doing an amazing jobs on 947, where she hosts Anele and The Club on 947.
Anele was rated as “the hottest thing on local radio” by South African radio legend Alex Jay in a September 2008 interview. Her TV work is also impressive. Anele has hosted major shows like Clash of the Choirs SA, Dream School SA, SA’s Got Talent, Real Talk With Anele, The Voice SA, Celebrity Game Night, The Buzz among many others.
One thing that people might not know is that Anele was one of the celebrity contestants on the fifth season of the SABC2 reality dance competition Strictly Come Dancing. She competed from September to December, 2008 and her professional dance partner was Brandon Eilers. Anele did exceptionally well on the show, going as far as the semi finals losing to Rob Van Vuuren.
Although she says this was the most grueling time of her life, Anele has learnt a lot from Strictly Come Dancing. According to her, the show prepared her for long hours and rejection. Probably that is one of the reasons she excels at everything she touches.
