The former Miss South Africa and entrepreneur is always using every opportunity to teach parents, guardians and family members, who has autistic kids.
Through the Bokang Montjane Foundation, she has partnered up with 5 preschools, with the aim to come through for disadvantaged children. The foundation has also opened its own centre where services like speech therapy and occupational therapies are provided. Bokang also calls for those with expertise to come and assist the kids at the center. They are also in the process of setting up an occupational therapy gym and playground for the kids.
“The AUTISM work done by our entire team at @bokangmontjanefoundation is incredible !!! We have partnered with 5 preschools and have opened our own centre providing Speech therapy and OT therapy is up and running !!! The need for therapies for children that have autism is high so if you are a speech therapist or OT and you can offer your time for 1 or 2 children please contact us we’d really appreciate it.
Let’s bridge the gap and give the necessary resources needed our “AUSOME” children,” Bokang said.
“Being an Autism mom changed EVERYTHING for me,this programme for me is about more than education—it is about transforming lives. Through providing a safe, supportive, and specialised learning environment, our Autism Centre and program of partnering with other pre schools equips children on the spectrum with the tools they need to succeed. At the same time, it uplifts these communities by addressing the critical gaps in Autism care and education. This is a vital investment in the future of South Africa’s most vulnerable children, ensuring that no child is left behind simply because of where they come from,” she added.
