SAMAs Dragged For Nominating Boity Thulo For Her “Unknown Hip Hop Album”. It’s never a dull moment, every time the SAMAs nominees list is dropped. This year is no exception as social media users are not impressed that some undeserving artists are on the list, whereas talented musicians like Makhadzi are once again left out.
Among those who bagged a nomination is Boity Thulo. The media personality, entrepreneur, who is also a rapper of note has received a SAMA nomination for best hip-hop album. Her album, titled 4436, which was released in 2020, has been nominated alongside Yanga Chief’s Popstar, Nadia Nakai’s Nadia Naked, Zakwe and Duncan’s self-titled album and Nasty C’s Zulu Man With Some Power.
Boity immediately took to social media to celebrate her nomination. “OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!I GOT A SAMA NOMINATION FOR BEST HIP HOP ALBUM!!!!!,” she announced.
Although her fans are happy for her, a lot of people questioned how come Boity bagged this nomination. One of the main issues a lot of people have is that, Boity’s album 4436, is unknown. They are not happy that someone who is prominent in the music scene like Makhadzi has been overlooked, but Boity got recognized for an album they are not even aware of.
