1. Ayanda Nhlapo was born in December 1st 1991 in Springs Ekurhuleni.

2. She studied dramatic arts at high school at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg.

3. Ayanda then moved on to study media at Boston Media House, and later fashion design at the Design School of Southern Africa.

4. While on a gap year, she ventured into trading vintage clothing, accessories and music records at a pop-up market in Braamfontein.

5. Before she knew it, she was completely in love with fashion and business, so she started customizing the vintage clothes that she was trading and eventually started designing her own pieces.

6. Ayanda won the third season of SABC3’s Young Designers, and was the host of Ayanda: Inside Fashion, on DSTV, which educates viewers about the fashion industry.

7. She also became the brand ambassador for Land Rover’s Range Rover Evoque, where she launched a collection titled ‘Born in the Wild, Raised in the City’. The collection is inspired by royal Zulu traditional wear, with a focus on the black-and-white traditional Zulu sandals made out of tyres.

8. Ayanda has appeared in many TV commercials with top companies, such us Five Roses, Mc Donalds, Nokia, Vodacom, MTN, Nissan Leaf as well as Standard Bank. She is the lead in the new Nando’s TV Commercial, which started airing recently.

9. She is now into acting and doing amazing things. Ayanda currently plays Noluthando on BET’s first telenovela, Isono.
