1. Kgaogelo Monama was born 11 May 1990 in Vosloorus, Gauteng. She just celebrated her 31st birthday a week ago.

2. She is among the growing number of actors who are all about education. Kgaogelo received her B-Tech degree in Drama and Film Production from Tshwane University of Technology.

3. In 2014, the talented actress landed her first role in television, as Sarafina in the e.tv soapie Scandal! Her character was a young, ambitious and outgoing waitress at Cole’s bar. In the same year, Kgaogelo guest starred in the first episode of Soul City 12.

4. The following year she guest starred in the e.tv action drama series Z’bondiwe. She then landed her role on Thandeka’s Diary, a sitcom which follows the (mis)adventures of 16-year-old Thandeka Zulu. Kgaogelo also starred as Tselane on Lithapo.

5. Kagogelo has also done a lot of theatre work. Her theatre performances include Tselane and The Giant, Malibongwe Igama Lamakhosikaz, Exile, In Our Blood, Have You Seen Zandile?, She Bellows and Sophiatown.

6. With an alto voice range, she is a professional cabaret dancer who has performed at Morula Sun and Meropa Casino; and is a dancer in the group Diva Strides.

7. Kgaogelo is also a TV personality of note. In 2016 she became a co-presenter on the SABC2 daytime talk show Talk SA, joining the show for its seventh season.

8. In 2021 she landed her first starring role in television when she was cast as Lerato in the Mzansi Magic telenovela DiepCity. The story centres around four young women from humble backgrounds who have been forced into crime while in high school, just to make ends meet.

9. As an entertainer it is imperative that you are are fluent in a number of languages spoken locally. Kgaogelo has passed in that department. She is multilingual, speaking English, Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa and Tswana.
