The Queen Viewers Not Warming Up To The New Sis Vuyiswa
The Queen Viewers Not Warming Up To The New Sis Vuyiswa. No matter how talented you are, stepping on the shoes of another talent is not easy. That is exactly what Thembisa Mdoda is going through. On Monday evening she made her much anticipated debut on The Queen Mzansi. The award winning media personality and actress, has been cast to temporarily play Vuyiswa ‘Sis Vee’ Maake.
The role was played by the talented Zandile Msutwana, who makes part of the original cast members of The Queen. Unfortunately Msutwana recently sustained an injury while on set and has been booked off to recover at home. As they say, the show must go on, hence a temporary replacement was found. That is when the services of another great actress was needed. Mdoda will thus carry on where Msutwana left off, as the Mzansi Magic telenovela wraps up their season 5.
This is not the first time, Mdoda worked on a Ferguson Film production. She is one of the lead cast members of Unmarried series which has so far run for two seasons. Mdoda together with other talented actresses Renate Stuurman and Lunathi Mpofu gave viewers their best on the second season of Unmarried which premiered on September 2020.
Mdoda’s latest work also includes bagging a role on Showmax Original, Dam. The psychological thriller which was shot in the Eastern Cape is about, Yola Fischer, who returns from Chile to the Eastern Cape to bury her father, only to be tormented by spirits in the farm house she has inherited. But with her mother institutionalized, and her own medicine running out, Yola has to wonder if the spirits are real or just in her head.
As much as she is bagging roles and hosting gigs every now and then, viewers are still not warming up to her replacing Msutwana temporarily. They want their favorite Sis Vee back, and took to Twitter to air their disappointments. Hopefully as episodes go by, Mdoda will do all she can to win their hearts playing the iconic role of Detective Maake.
