Nellie Tembe’s Father Rules Out Suicide As The Possible Cause of Death
Nellie Tembe’s Father Rules Out Suicide As The Possible Cause of Death. Anele Nellie Tembe is being laid to rest today, in a funeral service attended by close family, relatives and friends. Nellie, who was engaged to rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, lost her life after plunging from the balcony of a Cape Town hotel on Sunday morning.
Her funeral service which was held at the Durban International Conference Centre, showed how much everyone is shattered by what happened. As speakers spoke about the beautiful life Nellie lived, there was one message that caught the attention of many. This message from the deceased’s father Moses Tembe, was read out by businessman Sandile Zungu. Moses told the congregates about the traits that his daughter had, such as being feisty, strong-willed as well as single-minded in her pursuits.
Moses also said that he knew Kiernan loved his daughter but he pointed out that their companionship needed more than love. He seems to differ with social media users, though, when it comes to what might have caused Nellie’s death. Since the news broke, a lot of people mentioned depression as the possible cause. However, Moses, who asked AKA to turn to God does not think so.
“I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative to go unchallenged, a narrative that irks me to no end … that is ‘Anele was chronically suicidal’. All I can say is, until Anele turned 21, not a single member of her family, my family would have associated her with suicide….As Anele’s father, I categorically state that Anele was neither suicidal nor did she commit suicide. We must as a matter of priority deal with the scourge that bedevils our youth. Alcohol which is overused and drugs,” Moses said.
