This is exactly what many have been hoping for since fraud allegations involving Dr Tumi, emerged. Although a lot of newspaper publications ran the story, none of those implicated didn’t confirm or deny the allegations.
Since Tuesday evening, the award winning musician has been trending on social media for fraud allegation. According to reports Dr Tumi and his wife Kgaogelo Sara Makweya were listed as committee members of a non-profit organization and allegedly submitted altered grant application documents to the National Lotteries Board for approval of funds to finance projects in 2018. Together with their co-accused, Christopher Tshivule and Thomas Ndadza, they submitted the documents to the National Lotteries Commission in September 2018, resulting in more than R1.5m being transferred into a private bank account. The couple allegedly benefited approximately R760 000 from the funds.
Social media users weighed in on the matter, with many showing massive support for Dr Tumi, whereas other expressed their disappointments over what has happened. Dr Tumi, whose full names are Dr Tumisang Makweya took to Twitter to share his statement. Making it brief, he said at this point they won’t be commenting on anything yet since the matter is before the courts. He further thanked everyone for support ad understanding.
