Lupita Nyong’o, who is currently going through a heartbreak understands this very well. The Oscar winning actress has just announced that she and Selema Masekela are no longer an item. The two went Instagram official in December 2022, and they have been serving epic goals since.
Sadly even great things come to an end, and so has Lupita and Selema’s relationship. Lupita took to her Instagram to open up about the breakup. She penned a lengthy statement about heartbreak and stated how her trust has been broken.
“There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are deeply suffering.
At this moment, it is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust,” Lupita said.
“I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.”
“I am tempted to run into the shadows and hide, only to return to the light when I have regained my strength enough for me to say, ‘Whatever, my life is better this way.’ But I am reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love. And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass.”
When most celebs choose to keep issues like this private, Lupita found it fit to open up about the split publicly to “keep it 100” with her followers. She also hopes that the knowledge of her experience might be useful to someone else out there , who is also going through heartbreak.
