Phumeza Mdabe Wraps The Season Finale Of Abandoned With A Touching Episode. A few months ago, Phumeza Mdabe was announced as the host the new reality show “Abandoned”, on Mzansi Magic. The show assists orphans who were ignored as toddlers to find/track down their family members. The show is relatable as a lot of people have not had the privilege of knowing one or both of their biological parents.

The host of Abandoned, Phumeza, always empathizes with her guests, simply because she has walked the same path as them. The talented actress and TV personality was also sadly abandoned by her father at birth. In this season finale, Phumeza goes on an emotional journey to ask her father why he abandoned her.Her mother passed away when she was in Grade 10 and her step father, who treated her as his own, stepped in and played the role of both parents to Phumeza and her three siblings.

Her biological father denied her at birth, and has never been a part of her life. Phumeza only met him once in her teens. All that she wants is for her children to know their German roots. After coming across his address, Phumeza took the initiative to go to his father’s house in Eastgate, Johannesburg. “When I got there he was alone and was immediately uncomfortable around me,….I’ll forever have a void about that part of myself. To cope, I’ve learnt to forget about him and shut him out of my thoughts,” she said.
