Clicks Releases A Statement After Man Dressed In Traditional Attire Was Told To Leave Their Store
Clicks Releases A Statement After Man Dressed In Traditional Attire Was Told To Leave Their Store. A day ago, the store found itself trending yet again for negativity. Thando Mahlangu, who is a Ndebele Culture Activist, shared a video of himself being told to leave the store because of how he was dressed. The centre manager of Boulders Mall, who many identified as Jose Maponyane said Mahlangu was not properly dressed and as such he had to leave the store and the mall immediately.
All of this was being recorded and the video quickly made its way to Twitter. At first a lot of people thought it was Clicks Midrand Boulders employee who was having the altercation with Mahlangu. Because of that misunderstanding, they dragged Clicks, which is constantly at the center of controversies. Already angry people all over social media were calling for the closing of the store. Clicks had to quickly clear their name and explain what really happened when Mahlangu was confronted in their store.
It turns out that the centre manager of Boulders Mall together with security entered Clicks store, where they ordered Mahlangu to leave. The part that the video somewhat missed was when the Clicks store manager intervened and asked the gentlemen who came for Mahlangu to leave the store. After that Mahlangu was able to continue with his shopping in peace. In their statement, Clicks stated that they are extremely embarrassed over what happened and will be putting a formal complaint.
