Norma Mngoma Takes A Moment To Appreciate Her Legal Representatives
Norma Mngoma Takes A Moment To Appreciate Her Legal Representatives. There is that great feeling when this go right for you in court. One person who has a lot to be grateful for is Norma Mngoma. On Thursday the Pretoria High Court ruled that her arrest by the Hawks last year was unlawful and an abuse of power. Judge Cassim Sardiwalla also ordered that all information removed from her devices be restored.
For those who have been living under a rock, last year Norma’s estranged husband, former Home Affairs minister Malusi Gigaba, laid charges against her for allegedly damaging a Mercedes G wagon. She was then arrested by the Hawks. Sardiwalla argued that, the involvement of the Hawks speaks to the abuse of power by Mr Gigaba as a former minister in using the state administration for his own personal benefit with an intention to intimidate his wife in a domestic spat.
Mngoma appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Friday, with the prosecution saying it had agreed with her legal team that the docket and the high court’s judgment would be referred to the director of public prosecutions. The criminal case against her has thus been postponed to 26th March 2021.
Mngoma who was emotional today when leaving court, took to Instagram to sing the praises of her legal representatives, which include, Advocate Dali Mpofu.
In appreciation, Norma shared a picture of her lawyers captioned, “What a journey… so grateful for these legal giants #gamechangers ✊?✊?✊?“
