Cosmetics Frontshop Assistant Opportunity at Dis-Chem Knysna Mall

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring a Cosmetics Frontshop Assistant at Knysna Mall, Western Cape. This permanent role is ideal for individuals starting a career in retail or looking to gain experience in merchandising and customer service within the pharmacy and cosmetics sector. The position offers hands-on experience in stock management, sales support, and customer interaction.

The Frontshop Assistant will maintain merchandising standards, ensure shelves are stocked, and deliver excellent customer service. You will work closely with management to uphold Dis-Chem’s corporate policies and create a welcoming shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary role is to manage merchandise effectively. This includes restocking items, checking sell-by dates, applying the FIFO principle, and maintaining full product ranges on shelves. You will also report low, damaged, or expired stock to management and assist with cycle counts and stocktaking.

You will help build and maintain merchandising displays according to corporate procedures and ensure labels, pricing, and product presentation are accurate. Handling deliveries, unpacking stock, and keeping the storeroom and shop floor organized are part of your daily duties.

Customer service is central to this role. You will provide friendly, helpful advice, resolve stock queries, and ensure customers have a positive shopping experience. Assistance with training new team members and maintaining a clean and safe working environment is also required.

Requirements
Applicants must have Grade 12 (Matric) and 0–6 months of retail experience. One year of retail experience is advantageous but not essential. South African citizenship or a valid work permit is required, along with reliable transport.
