Key Responsibilities
Interns in the Buyer role will be expected to:

• Source, negotiate, and finalize orders for both direct and indirect materials
• Conduct regular price comparisons to ensure competitive purchasing
• Negotiate with local and international suppliers for cost reductions and delivery schedules
• Manage stock levels, demand forecasting, and procurement planning
• Ensure suppliers meet quality standards in collaboration with the technical team
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the value chain
• Process requisitions, complete supplier applications, and place orders
• Respond to customer and supplier inquiries efficiently
• Support continuous improvement initiatives regarding supplier performance and total cost management
• Perform other administrative and procurement-related tasks as required

Key Competencies and Requirements

• BCom degree or a relevant qualification is essential
• Some exposure to supply chain or procurement is advantageous
• Experience with Syspro is a plus
• Familiarity with international procurement practices is beneficial
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and financial performance skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure
• High energy, self-motivation, and initiative
