Ntsiki Mazwai On Why She Didn’t Report The Time She Was Raped
Ntsiki Mazwai On Why She Didn’t Report The Time She Was Raped. It goes without saying that reporting incidents of sexual assault to the authorities is not easy. Some victims fear that no one will believe them, others are ashamed, whereas others are scared of the perpetrators.
Even for someone as vocal and woke as Ntsiki Mazwai, it takes a lot to come out. After some years, the artist and TV personality publicly let it out that, Kwaito artist Bricks raped her. At the time, the Kwaito star was on trial for raping his niece. Although many commended her for breaking the silence, others questioned Ntsiki’ motive, asking her why is she only coming out now.
As more women continue to come with allegations that some local male celebs sexually assaulted them at some point, Ntsiki has seized the moment to reveal why she took long to share her story. Just like many victims out there, Ntsiki felt that no one was going to believe her since she was raped by a famous man loved by the masses.
Although she can now speak about her ordeal, Ntsiki still can’t open a case, because she doesn’t have any DA evidence that she can present. The good thing is that, she has claimed her power back, and always speak out against issues of violence against women.
