This year alone, Rhythm City has managed to cast some of the biggest name in the entertainment industry. The likes of Zamani Mbatha, Phila Madlingozi and Mohale Motaung are some of the actors they recently cast. As much as the show has continued to pull in the top 3 on the channelβs highest-rated shows and having a captivating storyline, this did not save it from being cancelled.
The decision to decommission Rhythm City is part of a business strategy, which includes reviewing a showβs on-air life cycle. In keeping with e.tvβs mandate on local productions, Rhythm City will be replaced by another local daily drama, adding to a now increased local offering of 4 daily dramas.
