“From cattle herder to President and you tell me President Zuma is dumb?” Asks Gayton Mckenzie

It’s interesting to note that academic excellence is poised as an indicator to determine how smart or intelligent an individual is in most social circles. (Remember the age old “Julius Malema is stupid, he failed woodwork” joke?) This notion brings back the perpetuated narrative that speaks to say people who are uneducated are dumb. Which really also equates to the assumptions in some communities that the better sounding your English, the more intelligent and intellectual you are.
Gayton McKenzie doesn’t seem very convinced or enthused by people who carry this notion particularly people who say President Jacob Zuma is dumb based on the reasoning that he has not achieved academic excellence.
In a series of tweets, Gayton touched on the subject by posing a question which seeks to understand how a man of President Zuma’s stature can be labelled dumb when he has managed to navigate from just a village herd boy to country president.
Gayton further more argued that such sentiments are a direct insult to black voters who voted in their majority and put President Jacob Zuma into office.

Is he dumb? Is he?
Brainwashed….
What are you views on Gayton’s sentiments? Who do you consider smart or intelligent? And what do you base that consensus on?
