YouTube Comes Through For SA Artists and Creators With Funds
YouTube Comes Through For SA Artists and Creators With Funds. This has been a tough period for creatives in the country. Lockdown regulations meant no gigs, to a lot of our artists. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, and level 1, has seen the entertainment industry open up more.
On other good news, for the industry, YouTube has announced that South African artists and creators can apply for grants from its Black Voices Fund. Over the next three years, the #YouTubeBlack Voices global $100m Fund will be used to acquire and produce YouTube Originals programming focused on the Black experience, and to directly support Black Creators and Artists so that they can thrive on YouTube.
The application window will open starting 7 October 2020 and will close on 21 October 2020 at 5.00 p.m. PST. To be considered, we encourage you to complete your submission as soon as possible.
