Proverb On Being In Denial About His Ex Wife’s Infidelity. Though his memoir, The Book of ProVerb, he wishes to share lessons he’s learnt through the different phases of his life with infectious positivity. One thing the memoir touches more on, is Proverb’s painfully public divorce and attempted suicide.
The media personality and rapper, has not spoken much about his divorce, but the memoir shares some details on what really happened. Just like any other person going through a lot, Proverb admits that at first he was in denial. Probably this might have been caused by the way he found out that his wife was cheating on him.
On chapter 7 of his memoir, he opens up about how he found out that his former wife Onalerona was cheating on him. According to Proverb, a journalist called him out of the blue to tell him that Onalerona is on vacation in Dubai with a local businessman. He regards the day he got the phone call as the day his life took an unexpected turn for the worst.
Although he had suspicions before that something was going on, Proverb dismissed the journalist saying it’s hogwash. He hung up the phone and started continuing with his lunch. His conscience wasn’t gonna let him in peace though, and he began thinking about some unpleasant moments that have been going on in their marriage.
