Khanyi Mbau On The Relationship She Had With Her Dad Before His Passing. A few weeks ago, Khanyi Mbau and Lasizwe announce the passing away of their father, with touching posts. Menzi Mcunu, was in hospital for some time, but sadly succumbed to his illness.

Just like any other girl, growing up, Khanyi, looked up to her father. Hence, when her father passed away, Khanyi felt pain like no other. The relationship between Khanyi and Menzi hasn’t always been all rosy though. On Wednesday, the media personality and all round entertainer shared how things stood between her and Menzi on Behind The Story show.

According to Khanyi, their relationship was non-existent. She revealed that she tried to reach out to Menzi by calling and checking up every single day, while he was hospitalized. Menzi, sadly ignored the calls, and never returned any of her calls. Khanyi relied on her sister, to get an update on her father’s health.

“I am saving my peace protecting my atmosphere. He is never happy about anything. I stopped expecting him to say sorry,” she said, when Pearl Thusi asked about any possibility of reconciliation.
